BSRIA extends UKAS accreditation for testing of individual zone controllers

In October 2019, BSRIA announced that it had successfully extended the scope of its UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accreditation to include the testing of individual zone controllers (IZC). This is in accordance with the eu.bac (European building automation controls association) Certification Scheme, which includes testing based upon BS EN 15500-1. BSRIA is one of three authorised test laboratories to carry out this type of testing and the only one in the UK.
Home controls and building automation products and systems have a significant influence on the overall energy efficiency of buildings. Proper control of the indoor environment is also essential to ensure the comfort and productivity of occupants.
The eu.bac certification mark has been devised to provide consumers with information and guidance to help them make informed purchasing decisions for selecting energy efficient products and systems based on a strong, accredited, third-party certification system. The registered eu.bac Cert Mark is a symbol that expresses energy efficiency and quality and is the European quality label for products and systems in building automation and controls.
